Playing with the Aqua Painter

I recently purchased the Stamp Set, Bloom with Hope. It is the perfect cure for winter temps in the single digits.  Brrrrr.  I decided to pull out my aqua painter and do some water coloring (Item Number 103954).  For those of you who aren’t familiar with an aqua painter, it is a paint brush filled water. You dip the paint brush into ink (I squeeze the lid of an ink pad and pull the ink right out of the lid), squeeze a little to get some water, and paint.  I love the effect.  It’s similar to the effect of blendabilties, but it has it’s own distinctive look.

Stamp Set Used: Bloom with Hope (133952)

Paper Dimensions:

  • Whisper White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and 4 3/4 x 3 1/2
  • Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack (133701) (on sale this week!) 5 1/2 x 4 1/4
  • Rich Razzleberry 5 x 3 3/4

To make the card:

  • Fold the large piece of Whisper White in half.  Adhere the yellow designer series paper to the front.
  • Using Momento Tuxedo ink, stamp the flower images from the Bloom with Hope Stamp set on the smaller piece of white card stock.
  • Put the paper on a some scrap paper.  Using the aqua painter, color in the flowers using Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, and Melon Mambo ink.  Using a Pear Pizzaz maker, color in the stems.
  • Put 2-way glue in the center of each flower.  Sprinkle with silver glitter (gotta have some sparkle).
  • Adhere paper to rich Razzleberry.  Tie Silver Baker’s twine a few times around it.  Adhere to card with dimensionals.

Have a great weekend.  Hope you have time to make something pretty.
