Birthday Blooms

Dear Friends,

One of the fun parts of stamping is buying a set that you’ve been wanting for a while. I love the Birthday Blooms set but didn’t buy it right away. I just bought it and couldn’t wait to use it.

I’m happy to report that the stamp set is as fun as I thought it would be. I’ve already used it twice.  Once for the card below and again just for the sentiment. The sentiments in the stamp set are amazing. The combination of script and text is adorable. I know I’ll be getting my money’s worth out of this one . . .

Now do you see why it was so much fun?  To make the card, I first embossed the flower in black onto Shimmery White card stock.  The card stock was new for me, too.  I’d never used it before and it was AWESOME for watercoloring. I like it much better than watercolor paper.  It took the ink and the water very nicely.  The glitter on the left of the image is from the glimmer washi tape.  <swoon> Oh is that tape amazing.  I’m hoping it never retires.  I’ll be using it a TON.

The inspiration for the card design came from the Paper Craft Crew (PCCCS185).  Isn’t it a sweet sketch?  Love it 🙂
