Moroccan Nights Stamp Idea – and blog candy!

PCCCS200I’m super duper excited about today’s blog post. Not only am I featuring the amazing Moroccan Nights stamp set, but I’m also offering something I’ve never done before — blog candy! Most of the designers in the Paper Craft Crew design team will also be offering blog candy, so be sure to check out everyone’s site and enter to win some fun stamping supplies.  The website is www.papercraftcrew.com.

While you’re at it, you may want to follow the Paper Craft Crew sketch. Isn’t it amazing? You can make some pretty cards with the template. To see the details on the sketch, click here.

I am so excited about the card I made for the sketch. I love the DSP off the right side. It add so much fun to the card. This card was so much fun to make because I got to use a ton of new products in it. The green is such a beautiful emerald green. In real life, the ribbon adds interesting texture and sheen to the project.

The red paper is actually washi tape. I taped it to a piece of cardstock to give it stability, then trimmed it to the exact size I needed.

  1. I’m finishing up my card for this weeks challenge and will post it later on this afternoon. Love your take on this sketch…great choice of designer papers to go with the stamps!! My three favorite colors to stamp with are Real Read, Basic Black and Basic Gray….not what you were looking for I am sure but that is my favorite. They make such a striking combination…elegant!! But thinking about colors….I love Bermuda Bay…Peekaboo Peach…Rose Red (not necessarily together but I love those colors!!)

    • RinaStamps says:

Thanks for your sweet notes. Looking forward to seeing your card later today! Your favorite 3 colors sound very classy. All three would look gorgeous together in a card. I will have to give them a try!

  2. Love it! I too am enjoying the Emerald Envy. My other favorites at the moment might be Calypso Coral and the Copper embossing powder..it’s a delightful color 🙂 lol I have some Moroccan Nights projects going together today, can’t wait to finish! Great Post and love the eye candy!!!! PS I love DJ’s favorite color combo, I see more cards in my future.

    • RinaStamps says:

Calypso Coral is a favorite of mine, too! The new copper embossing powder looks so pretty — I can’t wait to use it! Looking forward to seeing your card with DJ’s colors 😉

I love your style, and I get great ideas from you! I can’t wait to play with the new In Colors, but for now my favorites are Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Early Espresso. Thanks for sharing your creativity!

    • RinaStamps says:

Thanks so much, Jeffie! Sounds like you also like soft colors. I’m guessing your favorite in color will be Flighty Flamingo 🙂

  5. Lola Jones says:

    Love these colors!

  6. Great card! I love how you gave the washi tape some stability and matched it with the papers. I am seeing a theme that these colors are from Stampin’ Up. I have just recently begun to purchase stamps from Stampin’ Up. I do not have any ink nor have I even looked at a catalog (I purchase used stamps from those paring down their stash). I love the colors that you chose for your card and I look forward to trying some of the SU colors in the near future.

  7. What a great card! Love the colors too!

  8. Those lanterns are fabulous!! They would look great on cards for all occasions! I have a US address 🙂

  9. I really like your card. The tip about adding cardstock behind washi tape for stability is a great idea. Impossible to narrow down favorite colors because Stampin’ Up! has so many awesome ones, but today I’ll choose Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight. Tomorrow it could be different 😉

    • RinaStamps says:

Thanks,Sue! Sounds like you enjoy bright colors 🙂 I rarely use Pacific Point and need to use it more, so thanks for inspiring me.

  10. Great card Rina! My favorite colors right now are Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate, and Melon Mambo.

  11. That is a great card sketch, and you’ve done it more than justice – so I pinned it. I am hoping to eventually get the new in-colors, I like every one of them this time around. In the meantime, I find myself reaching for cherry cobbler, melon mambo and crumb cake.

    • RinaStamps says:

You are too sweet, Susanne! Thanks for pinning my card 🙂 Crumb cake is a staple, isn’t it? Makes everything look great 🙂

  12. Well I am fairly new to Stampin Up products so my stash is not big yet. I only have inks in: Tip Top Taupe, Mint Macaron and Cherry Cobbler. I would love to get Rich Razzlebberry, Melon Mambo and Emerald Envy. Beautiful card made from an awesome looking kit. I really need some washi tape :).

    • RinaStamps says:

Hello, Aimee. You may not have many, but you sure have some great ones. Thanks for your note 🙂

  13. DeeDee Vick says:

I Love this and I Love the washi tape! I would have never thought of this! I’m definately going to use more washi tape in this way! I’ve had a hard time with knowing how to incorporate washi tape but now I have an all new outlook! Thanks Rina!!

    • RinaStamps says:

DeeDee, I’ve also been guilty of hoarding, er, saving washi tape. The Moroccan tape is so beautiful, I really want to use it. I’ll have some cards coming up in the next few weeks where I’ve used it in other ways. Stay tuned….

  14. Love those lanterns. I really like your card and that Washi Tape just sets it off perfectly. My favs (as of this moment!) are Dapper Denim, Flirty Flamingo & Sweet Sugarplum)
