Lots of Shakes for this Seaside Shore Card

As I was making this shaker card, I had a wild and crazy idea. I thought — why limit a shaker card to just ONE area to shake? Why not keep going? So I did!! I am so excited about this card. Although I used the Seaside Shore stamp set in my last card, too, I wanted to use it again to show an underwater scene. Isn’t this fun?

Tips for making a Shaker Card

  1. When making a shaker card with multiple windows, be sure to leave room between the windows. You’ll notice that in between my circles there’s space. This space is important since that’s where the Foam Adhesive Strips are located (on the underside, of course).
  2. After cutting out circles in the top blue layer, I laid this layer over the white card base. With pencil, I lightly traced the circles onto the white paper. This showed me where to stamp my images. After I stamped all the images, I erased the circles with a good quality eraser.
  3. I think it’s more fun to have different items in each window. On my window in the top left, I have sequins in Bermuda Bay blue. The other windows each have different color or shapes in them, as well.
  4. To tie the card together, I stamped the water dots image in each of the windows, in the same Soft Sky blue. This gives the card a consistent feel.

Keep at It

When we do a technique more than once, it can help us to grow our creativity even more. Maya Angelou says,

You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.

This is so true. The more creativity you use, the more inspiration and new ideas you get. You come up with new and different ways of doing things. If there’s a technique you love, I encourage you to keep using it. Then show me the results and send me a picture 🙂 Watch your creativity grow to new levels.
