My Favorite Cards

Happy last weekday of 2016!! Today I get to do my favorite blog post of the year! I get to look through all the cards I posted each month and pick my favorite. So much fun! Of the cards below, what’s your all-time favorite?????

Let’s see them up close!

January 21016:

This card brings with it some terrific memories. I made the card when I was featuring my first ever Creative Challenge (click here for more info or to join.) The card features the stamp set I used for the different challenges, and it also incorporates several of the techniques. When I look at the card I am reminded of the many women who participated in the challenge and how fun it was. Click here for details on the card.

February 2016:

In February I featured a Waterfall card – which is a card that flips as you pull on it. I spent hours and hours coming up with the perfect dimensions and I fell in love with the results. Click here for details on how to make this card, as well as a video showing the step-by-step process.

March 2016:

My March pick featured my favorite free Sale-A-Bration stamp set. Ohhhh do I love those delicate flowers. Although I’ve given away many retired stamp sets, I’m still holding on to this one. Click here to see the blog post.

April 2016:

In April, my favorite project was a card holder. For years I’d wanted to create a project where I could give cards as gift along, with a matching beautiful box. The project below was finally born! I gave the project to one of the sweetest souls you’ve ever met. She had stage 4 cancer and I loved visiting with her and learning all I could. She passed away a few weeks ago and when I look at this project, I am reminded of the blinding smile she gave me when I presented her with this gift. Rest in Peace, Winona. I love you. Click here for the project details and video.

May 2016:

In May I started playing more and more with watercoloring. This project makes me smile because the watercolored flower (much to my surprise) turned out to be my favorite shade of coral! Here are the details on the card.

June 2016:

June was when our new Stampin’ Up! annual catalog was released. I had a hard time choosing my favorite for this month because so many of the cards are made with new stamp sets that I love. One of my favorites is Moroccan Nights. I don’t know what is about that stamp set, but I love it. The card I’m featuring is also one of my favorite sketches. Any card that has something askew in it looks FUN to me. As long as there’s not too much askew. We don’t want to get dizzy….Here’s the info on the card.

July 2016:

For July I’m also featuring a card made from another of the new stamp sets, Seaside Shore. Maybe it’s because we have a pet fish, but I couldn’t stop using the stamp set for just about every card I made. Below is the card I made the first time I inked ‘er up. Here are the details.

August 2016:

August started me down the road of addiction. I made my first shaker card, and I haven’t stopped since. They had always seemed intimidating to me, but once I learned how to do it, it was easy. I made a video on how to do it – click here for all the details. I cannot tell you how happy this card makes me. I love everything about it!! Gotta love a shaker card, right?

Okay, so I wasn’t joking about my love of Seaside shore or shaker cards. I seriously love them! Can’t have too much of a good thing, right? Click here for the details.

October 2016:

Oh my word. This card made me smile big time. I love using non-traditional colors for holiday cards (any holiday!) I made a video on how to create this card. Click here to see it.

November 2016:

Sorry, it’s a shaker again. LOL. This time with a stinking cute skunk. It also uses my favorite favorite favorite color, Flirty Flamingo. Isn’t the pink stunning? Click here to learn how to make your own skunk.

December 2016:

My favorite card for December isn’t a holiday card! I know, it’s shocking. The card below features Moroccan Nights, which you know I love. The delicate colors in the card (especially the gold) are so cheerful and happy! Click here for the details.

I hope you enjoyed this non-political walk through 2016!! I had a fun time going through memory lane.

What is your favorite of all of these projects? I’m curious!

Best wishes for a most fabulous 2017. May the year be filled with blessings and lots of stamping.

Love,
Rina
