A Nordstrom’s card

Dear Friends,

Happy Monday!  Hope it’s a great week for you. Did you get any shopping done?  Did you by any chance go to Nordstrom’s? When I was thinking about my card today, it reminded me of the posh department store. When I think of Nordstroms, I think tailored and elegant, which describes my card. I also think EXPENSIVE, LOL. The card does may look classy, but it sure didn’t cost a lot to make.

What is your stamp style. Are you a Nordstroms stamper? Pier 1? Crate and Barrel? I’ve always been a more elegant stamper, but recently I’ve gone more vintage and I also like a “messy” look. The cool thing about stamping is you can do any style you want — and you can change it up with each card.

For this card, I used a tonal effect. I used Bermuda Bay and Pool Party for the blues. The flowers are covered in Wink of Stella glitter. This card would also be awesome for Mother’s day, wouldn’t it?

Cutting out the flowers is a little extra work, but it’s so worth it, isn’t it?  I love the effect of the flowers popping out of the leaves. It made the card a little more special.

Dear Friends,

Happy Monday!  May it be a wonderful week for you.

Let’s start our week with something sweet. A cupcake!!  For this week, I decided to challenge myself with two sketches.  Using one sketch is a challenge — adding more than one . . . now that’s when the challenge gets fun!  For this week I did the TGIF challenge (#TGIGC48 challenge) and the Stampin’ Celebration Challenge (SC#125).

TGIF MARCH Challenges-004  SCIpix-023

For the challenges, I had to use the colors Mint Macaron, Pink Pirouette, and Pool Party and something sweet. I also had to follow the design sketch above.  Wowser, it was neat trying to figure it out.

To fit the sketch, I put glimmer tape on the top of the card.  Using scissors, I cut the washi tape into banners of different sizes.  I chose white glitter tape instead of a different metallic color because I wanted a subtle look.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Sprinkles of Life, Blooming Birthday
Paper: Pool Party, Mint Macaron, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Birthday Bouquet DSP
Ink: Watermelon Wonder, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette
Accessories:  Glimmer washi tape, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Elegant dots embossing folder

Hope you have a sweet week
