Fairy Celebration

One of the things I love about the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog is that it has some unique images. I’ve never had a stamp set like Fairy Celebration. The images are so sweet and versatile. My young girls would love receiving a card with these delicate fairies, but I could also use it for adults, to. I can just imagine my sister-in-laws face on getting a card with Fairies. She would ADORE it.

For my card today, I am following the Paper Craft Crew sketch #201. (PCCCS#201). It is a fast design, one you can make with many different stamps and themes.

The raindrop paper is from A Little Foxy designer series paper stack. It goes so nicely with Fairy Celebrations stamp set. I love the look of the raindrops with the cherry tree branch. Such fun! I colored the design using Blender Pens.

The ink is stamped with archival gray ink. I’ve been using gray more and more in my cards instead of black because it’s more subtle. I didn’t want the stamping to take over the card and the gray definitely blends in nicely.

Here is the sketch that I followed. Its’ a basic sketch, one you can use a lot and make cards easily and quickly (my favorite kind :)). This sketch will be open for TWO weeks this time, so please play along and join us at the Paper Craft Crew.

Happy Stamping,

Yummy Fresh Fruit

Of all the gorgeous stamp sets in the new catty, Fresh Fruit is one of my favs. I’m not sure what it is about the stamp set, but I ADORE it. I suspect my love of it has something to do with my personal ideology.

I’m a veg head.  There.  Now you know.

For about 5 years, we’ve been Pescatarian. No, that’s not a religion. (Actually, spell check doesn’t know what it is, either. LOL.) Pescatarians are like vegetarians, but we eat fish, too. I’m building up to be completely vegetarian, but I really really really love fish. We’re Pescatrarian because we hate the thought of animals dying so we can eat them. We also don’t approve of how animals are treated these days, with the crowding, overuse of antibiotics, etc.

Fresh fruit (and veggies :)) are always in my kitchen, since that’s what we cook with every day. This stamp set feels like home to me. It’s “me,” which makes me smile when I use it.

Fresh Fruit is also a great general stamp set. You can use it for any occasion. If you’re having an outdoor summer party, it would be an amazing stamp set for invitations. If you’re the guest at a party, you could use the stamp set to make thank you notes or other gifts. There are so many possibilities.

Doesn’t that pear look like you can take it off the card and take a bite out of it? The pear paper is also so cute! It goes so beautifully with the stamp set. I used the new doilies, too, and those are fun since they are small and fit on a card nicely. The bow is made with the new copper thread.  Lots of new on this card!
