A Scalloped Shaped Card

Dear Friends,

I love making cards that are a little different. Don’t you? The Circles Framelits will be retiring soon and I wanted to take advantage of it and make a unique card using the large scallop shape.

To make the card, I folded a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock in half (measuring 5 1/2 x 11). When cutting out the card, I pushed the scallop framelit a little off the paper where the fold was, so it wouldn’t cut all the way through.

The stamp set, Blended Bloom is on sale right now, while supplies last. Click here. It has been one of my favorites and I sure got my money out of it.  I’ve made countless projects with it and I still adore it. I will miss it once it retires.

For the colors, I followed the color challenge from Sunday Stamps #SSC125.

For the design, I followed Mojo Monday #445.

I’ve been getting lots of great feedback on my free class tutorial featuring the Circle of Spring stamp set. It is a gorgeous stamp set, isn’t it? Makes me wish I had a real wreath to put on my door.

Below are some projects by Stampin’ Up! using the stamp set. Don’t forget that I will send you a tutorial free with any order (with different projects then the one shown below).  I love to inspire you!

Pedal Pusher – First Card!

There are generally two kinds of craftyMojo438 shoppers – those who buy a little at a time on a regular basis, and those who save up their orders and make them BIG.  I’m the latter type of shopper.  I don’t place orders often, so when I do, they usually contain many things I’m running low on (envelopes, reinkers, paper) and a few fun things.

Guess what?  I just got a large order in.  And it included the new Pedal Pusher stamp set.  It is such a cute, whimsy stamp set and I was excited to get it inked up.

Never being satisfied with doing one thing at a time, I decided to use the new stamp set WITH a challenge.  I did the  Mojo Monday challenge (Mojo 438).

Initially, I felt this sketch didn’t lend itself easily to the stamp set I wanted to use, but I decided to just go with it 🙂  Why not, right?  It’s called a challenge for a reason.  In the end, I was happy with how it came together since I was able to flip the sketch and fit the cute little bike on the card.

Such an adorable bike, isn’t it?  And the sweet little birds — oh my!  I love it.  I also decided to use my favorite image from the Wildflower DSP.  (Share, don’t hoard, your favorite paper!  See, I’m learning to do this, too!!)

You can see in the close up below that I put some silver ribbon under the bow for a little extra sparkle.

Accessories: Rhinestones, Silver Cord, Silver Buttons, Silver Ribbon

Happy Stamping,

Sunshine

Two weeks in a row of sketches!!  I’m on a roll here 🙂  I did the Mojo Monday sketch.  I had as much fun as I did last week.  It is really challenging me to create different types of cards and use my supplies in fun ways.

Here is the sketch:

I didn’t have a star, but no worries, I substituted a flower.  Here’s what I came up with:
